Abstracts

A one-page abstract should be prepared in the following format:
Use a sheet of A4 size paper.
Use 12 points Times New Roman for the main text and 10 or 11 points for figure captions and References.
Leave 2.5 cm margins at the upper and lower side and 2.3 cm margins at the right and at the left of the page.
Title, author's names, and affiliations should be centered.
Use bold face with 16 points Times New Roman for the title but not for authors, affiliations, and the main text.
The name of the presenting author should be underlined.
Main text should be fully justified with a single spacing.
The International System of Units (SI) should be used wherever appropriate.
Genus and species names should be written in full on first mention and then abbreviated on subsequent mention. Taxonomic names are to be italicized, e.g. Staphylococcus aureus, Clostridium difficile.

Selected oral communications and posters

Timeslot for oral communications selected on abstract submission will be 12 min. Presentations + 3 min questions. 
The size of the poster should be A0 size format 841 x 1189mm / 33.1 x 46.8 in (width x hight); the poster should be in portrait orientation.

FEMS Grants
This meeting is selected by the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS) to offer grants 
for event participation for Early Career Scientists*

Eligibility
To apply for this grant, you would need to meet following requirements:
• be a member of a FEMS Member Society* or be recommended by such a member
• be an Early Career Scientist**
• be an Active Microbiologist
• be presenting author at the meeting (oral or poster)

**These are active microbiologists who obtained the highest academic degree - Bachelor, Master or PhD 
- less than five years prior to the application deadline date, or are a Master or PhD student. Periods of
maternity/paternity leave, special leave or illness do not count toward this definition

For early career scientists**, registration will only be accepted with the required supporting documents, below: 
- Highest academic diploma OR copies of student ID  AND copy of Identity card/passport required.

Refund registration fee and cancellation policy

  1. In case of cancellation before 31th May 2023, you will have to pay 50% of the conference fee. For cancellations on or after 31th May 2023, there will be no refund.
  2. In case you are unable to attend the meeting, a substitute delegate is welcome at no extra charge. However, the original participant should provide a letter of authorization together with a letter of cancellation to the Congress Secretariat before 10 June 2023. This information should include the name of the substitute delegate.
  3. All cancellations must be made in writing via e-mail to the Congress Secretariat (arae-registration@inrae.fr). Delegates who do not cancel and do not attend, will still be responsible for the full registration fee.
  4. The organization reserves the right to alter the venue if necessary.
  5. In the event that the ARAE Congress cannot be held or is postponed due to events beyond the control of the Congress Organisers (Force Majeure) or due to events which are not attributable to wrongful intent or gross negligence of the Congress Organisers, the Congress Organisers cannot be held liable by attendees for any damages, costs, or losses incurred, such as transportation costs, accommodation costs, financial losses, or any other indirect losses or consequential damages.
  6. Under these circumstances, the Congress Organisers reserve the right to either retain the entire registration fee and to use it for a future congress, or to reimburse the attendee after deducting costs already incurred for the organisation of the Congress and which could not be recovered from third parties.
